From the "attempting to justify my own behavior" department comes this story from down under.
A homosexual Australian theologian researching a new field of study dubbed "gay spirituality" has come to the conclusion that Jesus and some of his disciples were homosexuals.
Rollan McCleary on Thursday was awarded a Ph.D. for what the University of Queensland says is a "world first" thesis, after three years of research funded by Australian taxpayers.
McCleary also is an astrologer who has written about Pope John Paul II's horoscope -- and his research looks into matters such as the "star in the east" that drew the Magi or wise men to Jesus' birthplace in Bethlehem.
He uses Jesus' "astrological chart" -- the planet Uranus figures prominently, as in the case with many homosexuals, he says -- and argues that there are clues in the Bible to back up his views.
In the Gospel of John, the disciple John frequently refers to himself in the third person as "the disciple whom Jesus loved." McCleary thinks this is highly significant.
Asked whether he considered himself a Christian, McCleary replied: "I'm an Anglican, yes."
Oh. My. Goodness.
Hey Australia, how about those tax dollars at work? Why not just walk the money over to the local asylum and give it to the inhabitants to go buy new rubber for the walls?
If the Bible condemns homosexuality (the act, not the individual), we have to believe that Jesus condemns the act as well. After all, the Bible is His story. Examine Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 20:13, Judges 19:22-26 and Romans 1:24-27, to start with.
Here is a follow up story.
This site does an excellent job of examining the scriptures with an open mind.
Pass the pepto.

Jesus Gay, and his followers, well, i say
anything is possible, since, Jesus was only
a good hearted person who wanted to tame
the Romans' and Egyptians. And give the
poor slaves something to hold onto and
believe in that their lives would improve
if they just believed. Believe that hate
and destruction was not the way to be, that
only loving each other is the answer to lifes
difficulites. That really their is good in
all people and we should love each other and
others the same. But something went amiss
all of the good that is suppose to be in
people seems to have disappeared over and
over and over. If their is a God or a Jesus
i feel sorry for you Gay or not, If your
there please help us we truly need it now
more than ever.
